Kos Town

Kos Town is the vibrant heart of the island, a living museum of history and culture. As you stroll along its cobblestone alleys, you'll encounter archaeological sites nestled among modern buildings and shops, including the Ancient Agora, the Roman Odeon, and the impressive complex of the Roman Baths. At the town center stands the Tree of Hippocrates, under which, according to tradition, the great ancient physician once taught. The coastal promenade offers scenic walks alongside the harbor, lined with cafés and restaurants, blending historical charm with modern life.

Eleftherias Square & Kos Archaeological Museum

Eleftherias Square is the most iconic square in Kos Town and one of the island's busiest spots. Surrounded by striking Italianate buildings like the Municipal Market and the Library, it's a popular meeting point for both locals and tourists. At its center stands the Archaeological Museum of Kos, an elegant building dating back to 1935, housing significant artifacts from the ancient, Hellenistic, and Roman periods. Highlights include marble statues, funerary steles, mosaics, and everyday objects that unveil the island’s rich history and culture. The square uniquely combines heritage and contemporary life, making it a perfect place for a break, exploration, and relaxation.

Asklepieion

The Asklepieion of Kos is the island’s most important and famous archaeological site and one of the greatest sanctuaries of the ancient world, dedicated to Asclepius, the god of medicine. Built on a lush hillside with panoramic sea views, it served as a healing center, a place of worship, and a school for ancient physicians. The complex is spread across three terraces connected by marble staircases, featuring temples, porticoes, healing rooms, and thermal springs.

Zia

Zia is one of the most picturesque and popular villages in Kos, nestled on the green slopes of Mount Dikeos at about 300 meters above sea level. The village is renowned for its stunning sunsets, attracting crowds each evening. Wandering its stone-paved alleys, visitors will find traditional shops selling local products such as cinnamon syrup, honey, herbs, and handmade souvenirs. The village’s tavernas serve authentic local cuisine, while the Zia Natural Park with its pine forests, trails, and picnic areas, is a perfect escape for families and nature lovers.

Agios Stefanos Beach

Agios Stefanos Beach, located in Kefalos Bay, uniquely combines natural beauty with historical significance. Its golden sand and shallow, crystal-clear waters make it ideal for swimming and relaxing. Adding to the scenery are the ruins of two early Christian basilicas from the 5th and 6th centuries AD, just steps from the sea offering a rare blend of leisure and exploration. Opposite the beach lies the picturesque islet of Kastri with the white chapel of Saint Nicholas, completing the magical setting. The beach is well-organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sports facilities, making it perfect for families and couples seeking a full holiday experience.
