GENERAL TRAVEL TERMS & CANCELLATION POLICY

1. Passenger details

In compliance with EU Directive 98/41/EC, Presidential Decree 102/2019 (Government Gazette 182/A/20-11-2019), and the amended provisions of P.D. 23/1999 regarding the registration of persons traveling on scheduled passenger ships in Greek ports, all passengers must be individually registered by name for safetyreasons.
Accordingly, tickets are issued nominally and must state:

  • – Surname
  • – First name (in full)
  • – Gender
  • – Nationality
  • – Date of birth (DD/MM/YY)

During online booking or ticket issuance, passengers must provide accurate identity details, a contact phone number, and an email address exclusively for the carrier to notify them in case of delay, cancellation, or schedule change. Passengers are responsible for checking the accuracy of all details (date, time, itinerary, vessel, identity information) upon ticket issuance and must refuse receipt if any information is incorrect.

Passengers must also inform the issuing agency or the company’s ticket offices of any special care or assistance required in case of an emergency.

Passenger Contact Number

For better service, passengers are strongly advised to provide a mobile phone number at the time of booking, so that they can be notified of any emergencies (e.g. sailing prohibition due to adverse weather conditions).

2. Boarding procedure

Passengers must:

  • – Arrive at the ship’s embarkation area at least 30 minutes before departure.
  • – Present vehicles at the loading area 60 minutes before departure.

Drivers are solely responsible for loading and unloading their vehicles. All vehicle passengers must disembark before vehicle loading.


Vehicle loading order is determined by the Port Authority regulations at the port of departure. All passengers must hold valid travel documents. The Company reserves the right to deny boarding to passengers without the required documents.


If a passenger wishes to disembark before sailing, they must inform the Purser’s Office and remove all luggage and vehicles, provided relocation is feasible.

3. Luggage – Valuables

The Company bears no responsibility for personal belongings unless deposited for safekeeping at the Purser’s Office, which will issue a receipt.


Passengers are entitled to carry hand luggage up to 50 kg or 1 m³.


Valuables should not be kept in luggage but handed over to the responsible ship’s officer for safekeeping.


The carrier is liable for damage or loss of deposited luggage only upon official receipt.


The Company is not liable for loss of money, valuables, or luggage left in publicareas or inside vehicles.

4. Transport of Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs)

Passengers traveling with vehicles using alternative fuels (AFVs) – including:

  • – Hybrid and fully electric vehicles with batteries
  • – Vehicles using liquefied or compressed gas fuels

must declare this at the time of booking or ticket issuance.

According to Greek Authority guidelines for AFV carriage on passenger–vehicle ferries:

  • – Pure electric or rechargeable hybrids must have battery charge ≤40% of total capacity. Battery temperature will be checked during loading.
  • – Other AFVs (e.g. LPG or CNG) must have fuel tanks ≤50% full.
  • – Vehicles with fuel system or battery defects are not permitted on board. Owners are solely responsible for certifying the vehicle’s integrity.
  • – Drivers must immediately inform crew of any alarm or malfunction.

These rules also apply to unaccompanied AFVs.

5. Unaccompanied minors

Passengers 15–18 years old may travel unaccompanied only if:

  • – A Parental/Guardian Consent Form is completed, signed, and officially certified by Police or Port Authority.
  • – The minor carries the original signed Consent Form and a valid ID card for identity verification.

Parents/guardians are solely responsible for obtaining and certifying the required documents.
The Company bears no liability if boarding is refused due to incomplete or invalid documentation.

6. Pets on board

Under Law 4830/2021 (Government Gazette A’169/18.09.2021), passengers traveling with Companion, Assistance, or Therapy animals must declare them at booking, so that a free-of-charge ticket can be issued and the animal registered in the electronic system.
On-board ticket issuance for pets is not permitted.

Required ticket details:

  • – Animal Health Booklet or Passport number
  • – Microchip number
  • – Animal category (Companion, Therapy, Assistance)
  • – Size (Small ≤10 kg or Large >10 kg)

Passengers must carry the updated health booklet and are responsible for their pet’s care, safety, and hygiene.


According to EU Regulation 576/2013, up to five personal pets may travel per passenger, each with its own valid health booklet. Facilities for pets are available on board.


Pets ≤10 kg in travel baskets may stay in a private cabin (if the entire cabin is booked).


On open-deck vessels, pets may stay outside if accompanied at all times and wearing a muzzle.


Unaccompanied animals are not accepted.


Guide dogs are permitted in all areas.

7. Ticket control on the ship

The Purser’s Office checks tickets during boarding and voyage.
Passengers must present:

  • – Valid tickets
  • – Any documents supporting discount eligibility

Failure to provide required proof will result in payment of the fare difference on board.

8. Fares & Discounts

Ticket prices include passenger transport to the destination port in the selected seat type and all applicable charges (VAT, port fees).
Vehicle fares include vehicle transport and all applicable charges.

  • – Discounts are not cumulative; only the highest applies.
  • – Discount entitlement must be declared during booking and proven with valid documents during ticket issue and boarding.
  • – No fare difference is refunded after ticket issuance.

Indicative discounts:

  • – Large families: 50% (Economy Class): Available only to holders of the official Greek Large Family Card issued under Greek law. Not applicable to visitors or foreign residents.
  • – Three-child families: 30% (Economy Class): Available only to holders of the official Greek Three-Child Family Card issued under Greek law. Not applicable to visitors or foreign residents.

  • – Persons with disabilities ≥80% & their companions: 50% (all seat types): Requires official Greek Disability Certification (ΚΕ.Π.Α.) registered through the National Disability Portal (e-ΕΦΚΑ). Foreign disability documents cannot be accepted.
    Disabled vehicles: 50%: Requires official Greek Disability Certification (ΚΕ.Π.Α.) registered through the National Disability Portal (e-ΕΦΚΑ). Foreign disability documents cannot be accepted.

  • – University students (Greek public universities or Hellenic Open University): 50% (Economy Class): Valid only with the official Greek University Student ID (PASO) issued by a Greek public university. Erasmus students with a valid Greek University (PASO) ID are also eligible.

  • – Infants up to 1 year: Free infant boarding pass (not valid on conventional vessels)
  • – Children up to 5 years: Free infant seat (excluding Platinum seats)
  • – Children 5–10 years: 50% discount (all seat types)

9. Ticket Cancellations

  • – Tickets can only be canceled by the issuing agency.
  • – Telephone, fax, or email cancellations are not accepted (except as below).
  • – E-tickets not yet printed may be canceled by email to [email protected]  using the email address provided in the booking form.

Refunds are made by the issuing agency within one year of cancellation (or exceptionally by central port agents).

Cancellation fees:

  • – Up to 14 days before departure: 100% refund
  • – Up to 7 days before departure: 75% refund
  • – Up to 12 hours before departure: 50% refund
  • – Less than 12 hours: no refund

After departure, tickets cannot be canceled, changed to open date, or rescheduled.

For tickets purchased via www.seajets.com, the same terms apply, but cancellation requests may be emailed at least one business day before the above deadlines and must include all booking details.
If a ticket has already been printed, it must be physically returned to the company or the central port agent.

10. Open-date tickets

Tickets may be converted to open-date at least 12 hours before departure (or 4 hours for conventional vessels).

  • – Valid for one year from conversion.
  • – Can be rebooked for any Seajets route subject to availability.
  • – No refund is given for open-date tickets or for tickets reissued from them. The same applies in the case of a ticket change.
  • – If the new ticket is more expensive, the passenger pays the fare difference.

Conversion requires submission of the original ticket to the issuing agency, any central port office, or the company.

11. Lost Tickets

In case of ticket loss, the Company must be notified at least one hour beforedeparture by phone (+30 210 4121001) or email ([email protected]).


A new ticket must be purchased and a written loss declaration submitted, including the date of travel, route, lost ticket number, new ticket number, and a copy of the new ticket.


If the lost ticket is not found to have been used within one month, the Company will issue a free replacement ticket of equal value.

12. Delays or cancellationsdue to force majeure

The Company is not liable for delays, diversions, or schedule changes caused by adverse weather, orders of the Ministry of Shipping or Port Authorities, or forcemajeure, as passenger safety is the primary concern.
If a voyage is not performed due to such reasons (e.g. sailing prohibition), the Company will refund the full ticket value only.

13. Itineraries

While every effort is made to maintain published schedules, the Company reserves the right to modify them or substitute vessels if necessary.


All changes are announced on www.seajets.com and in the booking system.

14. Safety on board

Passengers must comply with all instructions from the Master and crew regarding order, cleanliness, and safety.
Entry may be denied to those who refuse to comply, and such incidents will be reported to Port Authorities.

The Company and the vessel bear no responsibility for accidents, losses, or damages occurring before boarding/loading or after disembarkation/unloading.

Transport of explosives, flammable, incendiary, or otherwise dangerous materials is strictly prohibited.

15. Online dispure resolution

The European Commission has set up an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR platform)(https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/main/?event=main.home2.show), which can be used to resolve disputes about online purchases between consumers and online traders.
